What is Grace Trinity?

Grace Trinity School for Girls is an independent, private school based on Christian values, with unrivalled academics and a strong focus on the arts. We also have a wide variety of sporting and cultural extra murals.

What facilties does Grace Trinity have?

We have a beautiful, historic main building, which was originally built for veterans of WW2. It has since been been a health spa, and a bed and breakfast hotel, but we believe it has finally found its ideal purpose as a school. From 2011 to 2015 we added additional wings, which we have matched to the style of the original building. We also have a sports centre, sports fields, a netball court, a half-olympic swimming pool, plenty of space for future development, as well as beautiful, natural surroundings.

How do I get to Grace Trinity?

The school is situated on Rietvlei Lifestyle Centre, on Swartkoppies road, Alberton. Access is available through the main gate of Rietvlei on Swartkoppies Road.

How many girls are there in a class?

he maximum class size for all grades is 18 girls. We believe that small classes are a critical part of the ideal learning environment.

Curriculum and School Terms

We follow the IEB curriculum and school terms are as per government schools

How do I Apply?

Application forms are available from the Primary and High school offices, or can be downloaded . Applications for grade 1 can be made at any time, but will require a school readiness test for final confirmation. Applicants for all grades may be required to write an entrance exam, depending on previous results. We do have academic requirements of 60% for Maths, 60% for English as well as a 60% average

Scholarship Program

We offer a limited number of partial scholarships for exceptional performers, for example head girl, national or provincial achievements in sport or culture. Applications will be considered on merit

What Subjects do we offer?

The following subjects are offered in the FET phase (Grades 10-12): • Compulsory: English, Afrikaans, Life Orientation, Maths or Maths literacy • History • Consumer Studies • Life Science • Art subjects (Dance/Music/Visual Art/Drama) • Physical Science • Business Studies • Geography

What is the arrangement with the land?

The land is owned by the city of Johannesburg, who have appointed trustees to manage the area. We have a long term lease with the trustees, which covers the buildings and areas for development..

What plans are there for development

Development is influenced by the level of interest from the girls. Plans under development include a 400m athletics track, tennis courts, track and field facilities, and an auditorium..

What teachers do you have?

Our teaching staff is our greatest asset. We have received several hundred applications to date and have the luxury of selecting staff who are highly qualified, passionate role models for the girls

What Sports do you offer?

Sports currently offered include cross-country, athletics, mountain biking, volleyball, soccer, netball, hockey, and swimming. Tennis, karate and horse riding are offered through external providers.

Are there cultural activites?

There is a strong focus on the arts, and each girl is encouraged to participate. Highlights include the drama club, piano, choir, eisteddfod, chess club, arts and crafts, school plays and photography.

What is the enrichment program?

Derived from the girl guides program, we have a developed our own program of activities which provide opportunities for the girls to develop their skills and confidence, and to deepen their understanding of the world around them.

Do you use any modern teaching aids?

Yes, we have electronic whiteboards, data projectors and broadband internet. As of 2016, we introduced the use of electronic textbooks on iPads with a very positive response.
